Bamboo Raft in Yangshuo Guilin

Bamboo rafts provide an exciting way for travelers to explore the beauty of the Li River. Compared with big cruises, its biggest advantage is that tourists can ask the boatman to stop at any banks and have much closer intimate contacts with the idyllic scenery. Tourists should prepare waterproof clothing in order to avoid getting wet. They are advised not to take the bamboo raft if it rains for the sake of safety. In addition, adults over 70 years old and children under 7 years old seem not to be allowed to take the raft. 

The most popular routes are Xingping – Yangdi and Yulong River Drift. Most rafts allow 2 people only, while some big ones can hold 4-6 people. The sightseeing time for both routes is around 2 hours.
Bamboo Rafting along Yulong River 
Rafting along Yulong River, you will not only see the essence of the beautiful natural view, you could also find ancient villages, various old stone bridges as well as quaint watermill. Therefore, some experts think Yulong River is the superb natural heritage in the world.

Full rafting route: Jinlong Bridge-Qifeng Hill-Tianzuo Village-Yulong Bridge -Xiangui Bridge—Jiuxian-Xinglong Village, Xiatang Village-Chaoyang Pier-Gongnong Bridge (12km, Duration: 4-5 hours)
Upstream Route: Jinlong Bridge-Jiuxian or Jinlong Bridge-Jiuxian-Xinglong Village-Xiatang Village (around 2 hours and to be recommended)
Downstream Route: Chaoyang Pier-Gongnong Bridge (1.5-2 hours)

Bamboo Rafting along Li River
Route: Xingping Town to the Nine Horses Painted Hill.
Attractions:  Pier in Xingping Ancient Town - Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal - Nine Horses Painted Hill – Back to Xingping Pier
Distance: about 5.5 km waterway between Xingping Pier and Painted Hill
Duration: about 1.5 hours
