Matian Dong Minority Drum Tower


Matian Drum Tower It is located in Tianxinzhai Village, Pingyang Township, Tongdao Autonomous County. It was built in the Qing Dynasty (1645-1911) and it is a unique building of the Dong Ethnic Minority people.
Matian drum tower is a square wooden structure  with two-story pavilion, nine-story and eight-post . The side is 8 meters wide and 20 meters high. The top cover is octagonal, and the top of the gourd is topped. The seal plate and the paintings of the large beams in the building are painted with folk figures. There is a fire pit on the ground floor and wooden benches around it. The front of the second floor is a movable slab, which can be used as a stage.
The 1st to 8th floors are all four corners, and the 9th floor is an octagonal. The four-square corrugated symmetry of the dragon, unicorn, phoenix, peacock, squid, lion, and deer are symbols of auspicious happiness. There are also a variety of birds, fish, flowers and grasses on the crossbow. The lines are distinct and the colors are beautiful. The entire building of the Matian Drum Tower is exquisite in structure, beautiful in appearance, elegant and dignified, and is a masterpiece of the Dong Minority architectural art.
