Zhuzhou Transportation


Zhuzhou is located to the southeast of Changsha and bordering Jiangxi to the east. Zhuzhou City is the second largest city in Hunan Province and part of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster. Zhuzhou is a very important transportation junction in South China. Xiangjiang River flows through Zhuzhou, which makes it one of the eight river ports of Hunan Province.  It is the intersection of East-West & North-South railways and North-South & East-West Expressways as well. It takes 40 minutes drive from this city to Changsha Airport.

By Air
Huanghua International Airport is the nearest airport to Zhuzhou City. It's about 67 km away from downtown Zhuzhou to Changsha Huanghua Airport.

By Train
​Zhuzhou is a "cross-shaped" national railway hub. Zhuzhou is known as a "city brought by trains" and is one of China's important railway hubs. Beijing-Guangzhou and Shanghai-Kunming 2 main railway lines cross here.

In the city, the major raiway stations includese Zhuzhou Railway Station, Liling Railway Station, Zhuzhou West Railway Station, Liling East Station, Changz-Zhu-Tan Intercity Railway Station. There are also Youxian South Station, Chaling South Station, and Yanling Station which are built in 2017 in the three counties of Zhuzhou City.

Zhuzhou Railway Station:
The Beijing-Guangzhou railway, the Zhejiang-Jiangxi railway and the Hunan-Guizhou railway meet here, which makes Zhuzhou Railway Station one of the five special class passenger and goods transportation stations in China. There is a train passing by in average 3 minutes.
Zhuzhou North Station
Zhuzhou North Station is the biggest goods transportation marshalling station in South China, with 110 trains and more than 30 thousand passengers passing through every day. 
Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway passes Zhuzhou City and it is only CNY 29 for ticket ,as well as  30 minutes taking from Changsha to Zhuzhou.

By Long-Distance Bus
Zhuzhou Highway extends in all directions. In Zhuzhou, there are National Highway 106, National Highway 320, Provincial Highway 211, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway (G4), Chang-Zhu Expressway (S21), Shanghai-Kunming Expressway (G60), Quanzhou-Nanning Expressway (G72 ), Hengyang-Yanling Expressway and Yueyang-Ruyang Expressway all pass through Zhuzhou. The 41-km-long Changzhu Expressway brings Zhuzhou closer to the provincial capital, Changsha.
There are 7 bridges across the Xiangjiang River in Zhuzhou City, which are used to connect the  each county of Zhuzhou City with the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway.

By Water
Xiangjiang River passing around the city of Zhushou is open for navigation in all four seasons. Ordinary ships can trace Hengyang and Yongzhou along the Xiangjiang River, and pass through Changsha, Dongting Lake, and the Yangtze River. Thousand-ton ships can sail the Xiangjiang River, pass the Yangtze River, and pass through Shanghai and reach all over the world. Zhuzhou Port is one of the eight major ports in Hunan Province.
