Hainan Transportation


Hainan Province is the largest and the only special economic zone at provincial level in China.  The open Hainan has become a great platform for exchanges and cooperation between China and the rest of the world. Today. it is very easy to get to Hainan.

By Air:
Hainan is one of China’s pilot provinces exercising air freedom rights opening. Haikou Meilan International Airport and Sanya Phoenix International Airport have opened more than 330 domestic and international direct routes, of which more than 268 are domestic routes, 7 routes to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and 55 international routes, reaching 110 domestic and international cities and regions. Hainan Airlines has won the certificate of “SKYTRAX Five-Star Airlines” for three consecutive years.
China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines both have joined Special Prorate Agreement (SPA), sharing flight number with foreign airlines in their international flights to major cities in Europe, America and Asia. The airlines also provide services to facilitate passenger transfer procedures at airports. Thus, passengers and goods can be directly transported to foreign destinations from Haikou. Bulk commodity can be transported directly by ship or transferred from ports in Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Hong Kong to destinations across the world. Logistics enterprises in the province can provide door to door service in their domestic and international intermodal transport business.
 
By Train:
A West Line Railway has been built from the south to the north of the island, connecting Chinese railway network by ferry. The passenger train has been operating from Sanya to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Chengdu. The Eastern Ring High-speed Railway linking Haikou and Sanya along the island’s east coast was open to traffic on December 30, 2010. The construction of the Western Ring High-speed Railway was officially launched on September 28, 2013. Preliminary work is currently on the way on building a passage cross Qiongzhou Strait.
The installed capacity of electricity in the province is 5.049 million kilowatts. A 200kv power grid consisting of a double-loop and an east-west wire has been built on Hainan Island, while an 110kv power grid has covered all cities, counties and development zones in the province. All administrative villages are accessible to electricity.
Natural Gas Pipeline: A Sanya-Dongfang-Yangpu-Haikou pipeline has been built, currently providing about 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the province.
 
By Bus:
A trunk road network has been built consisting of the round-island expressway, three North-South arteries and four East-West arteries. And third-class highway is accessible to all towns in Hainan.

By Water: 
In Hainan, there area five first-class national open ports have been built, comprising Haikou Port, Qinglan Port, Basuo Port, Yangpu Port and Sanya Port. The province owns seven large reservoirs, 72 medium-sized reservoirs, with total water storage of 10.02 billion cubic meters and annual supply of 5.6 billion cubic meters, which is sufficient to meet the needs from both industrial and agricultural production, and the people’s living.
Trunk transmission cable lines between Haikou and Zhanjiang (a city in western part of Guangdong province), and between Haikou and Beihai (a city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) have been constructed. Telephone network has covered all administrative villages in the province; fiber optic transmission network has covered all townships; 3G wireless network has covered 18 cities and counties. In a word, voice calls, video conference and data transmission are all available in this province to facilitate communication linking all corners of the world.
