Meiguan Ancient Post Road

Meiguan Ancient Post Road has remained intact for more than 1,300 years. Meiguan Pass is a natural barrier that straddles the two provinces of Jiangxi and Guangdong. The mountains here are steep, and it has been a battleground for soldiers.

Meiguan Pass is also the only way for businessmen in the two places in ancient Jiangxi and Guangdong to pass. It is called "the First Pass in South Mountain Ranges".In order to promote the trade communication,  Tang Court constructed the post road, which communicated the inland and the "Maritime Silk Road", So it has important historical significance for promoting the economy of Jiangxi and Guangdong.

December or January is the best time to Meiguan, as it is just the florescence of plum blossom all over the hill and dale. The ancient post road is superior choice for tourists fond of tranquility and something redolent of the past.
