Shangqing Ancient Town

Shangqing Ancient, with a history of thousands of years, is about 25 kilometers away from the urban area of Yingtan City. Along the river, the town is more like a  water town in South China than a row of hanging feet and a boat port.Surrounded by mountain and river, the beautiful ancient town has many places of interest which are located on the 2 km long street.

Shangqing Palace is located in the east of Shangqing Town, about one kilometer away from the Tianshi Mansion. The palace was built in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is a place of sacrificial deities for Taoism. There are the Gossip Array, the Bell and Drum Tower in the palace.

Shangqing Palace Tianshi Family Temple
Tianshi Family Temple, or Liuhou Family Temple, is the ancestral hall of the Taoist founder Zhang Daoling. The ancestral temple of  Zhangliang ( 250 BC-186 BC), the character ovary, statesman and strategist at the beginning of the Han Dynasty, the founding father of the Western Han Dynasty. So far, Lujiang in Anhui, Hanzhong in Shaanxi, Lankao in Henan, Zhangjiajie, and Weishan County in Jining City, Shandong Province have all said that Zhang Liang's tomb is true.

Tianshi Mansion is located in the east  town of Shangqing. It was the residence of Zhang Tianshi in the past. Zhang Tianshi, whose real name is Zhang Daoling, is said to be Zhang Liang's eighth grandson. The Taoism he founded continues to this day. Tianshi Mansion covers an area of 50,000 square meters and has more than 500 houses. It not only retains the traditional Chinese government specifications, but also has certain features of the Feudal Economic Commission. However, it maintains a distinctive Taoist orthodoxy style in its layout. At the beginning of October of each year, the Dragon Tiger Mountain Taoist Cultural Festival is held here, and visitors can watch the performances of Taoism.
