February 24 on the day,Zhangjiajie(New York) Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference was held.Huang Ping,Consul General of China in New York,attended and delivered a speech. Wang Hongbin,Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Amstead Mayor of Linden,New Jesey,USA,and the head of Hunan's Commercial Representative Office in the United States made speeches.The head of the Chinese Tourism Office in New York and about 70 representatives of the U.S.Eastern tourism business community and overseas Chinese participated in the event.
Huangping said that Zhangjiajie is a fairyland where people and nature coexist harmoniously in the process of China's modernisation.Various natural and cultural landscapes meet the various expectations of tourists at home and abroad for tourism.In the 35 years since the establishment of the city,Zhangjiajie has built a modern cultural tourism integration pillar industry integrating tourism,culture,health,leisure,entertainment,etc.,connecting domestic and external flights,high-speed rail,highways and other modern transportation systems.The city's forest coverage rate reaches 71%,with 12 world-class and national-level protected areas.The species of animals and plants in China are 1.5 times that of Europe.,which is an important ecological barrier in China.The source of overseas passengers has reached 133 countries and regions.
Huangping emphasises,I hope this promotion meeting wull help more American friends to know and understand Zhangjiajie,welcome more American friends to travel to China,feel the breathtaking beauty of Zhangjiajie,understand China's history,culture and natural scenery,enhance natural understanding and friendship between the two peoples,and promote the healthy and stable development of Sino-US relations.It is hoped that Zhangjiajie can share more cultural tourism resources and management experience with New York,New Jersey and other places,and work together to promote cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and United States.The door to China's opening will only open wider and wider.We are willing to provide more convenience for people from all over the world,including the United States,to invest in China travel and study.
Mayor Amstead welcomed the Zhangjiajie delegation and said that China and the United States have close exchanges in all fields,and both sides cannot succeed eithout each other.Linden City attaches importance to the development of relations with China and is committed to strengthening cultural exchanges between the tow countries.The tow sides should jointly promote exchanges and visits between young people between the tow countries,feel ezch other's different cultures,traditions and values,and enhance mutual understanding between the tow countries,which is crucial to the development of Sino-US relations and is also conducive to building a better world.
Wang Hongbin introduced the mountains and forests of Zhangjiajie with the 'hometown of scenery',introduced the national integration and cultural diversity with the'hometown of culture and art',introduced the world wonders and various froms of outdoor sports projects such as the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge and the Hundred Dragon Ladder with 'Outdoor Sports Paradise',and presented the natural,historical and cultural landscape of Zhangjiajie to the on-site guests in a three-dimensional and comprehensive wy.He said that this promotion meeting was to continue friendship,promote exchanges and seed common development.He sincerely invited American friends to Zhangjiajie as guests and work together to promote local exchanges and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
