Changsha Huanghua International Airport


Huanghua International Airport is a national first-level airport with 24.2 kilometers east to the center of Changsha City. It is the largest and best-equipped in Hunan Province.
Changsha Huanghua International Airport is one of Hunan's major portals to the outside world, and an important civil aviation hub in China. Up to December 31, 2013, Changsha Huanghua International Airport recorded a passenger throughput of 16 million, making it the 12th airline hub with a passenger throughput of 16 million.In 2013, the airport has 84 destinations and has added or restored 14 destinations including Boracay, Da Nang and Chiengmai. Its network is now radiating over 70 medium or large cities of countries and areas like Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and southeast Asia.
Okay Airways Company Limited, the first private airline in China, set up its Hunan branch in Changsha on the afternoon of December 12. Following China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines, it becomes the third airline establishing branches in Hunan.

Changsha airport achieved passengers' throughput of 14.75 million person-times, ranking first in Central Region and 12th in Chinese airport; and foreign pass angers throughput 730100 person-times, which ranked top in Central Region for 8 years.

The Changsha-Anchorage-Los Angeles Flight launched its maiden trip on December 28, marking the opening of a direct flight from Hunan to America. Changsha becomes the fourth city in the mainland of China with the air services provided by American airlines after Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu. Boeing 767-300ER airliners are adopted with the initial form of chartered flights. Twice-weekly regular lines will be available by the end of March in 2015.

Direct Flights from Changsha to Sydney was launched on Sept. 12, 2016. It is the first direct flight between Hunan and Oceania, and Hunan's third transcontinental direct flight route.


Transport to Huanghua Airport from Downtown Changsha
There are regular airport buses from the Aviation Hotel to the airport from 6:30 am, the ticket is RMB 16.5 while taking 30 minutes. If you are not in a hurry, you can also take the public bus No 114 which takes 65 minutes from the railway station to the airport, and open time is from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm.
