Xiangtan Transportation


With convenient transportation, Xiangtan is a converging point on 107 National Highway (Beijing to Shenzhen), 320 National Highway (Shanghai to Kunming), Jingguang Railway (Beijing to Guangzhou) and Xiangqian Railway (Hunan to Guizhou). Tourists can take the tourist train from Guangzhou to Shaoshan here in Xiangtan.

By Air

Changsha Huanghua International Airport is the nearest airport to Xiangtan City.Xiangtan City is about 40 km from Changsha and 70 km from Changsha Huanghua International Airport. Visitors can take flight from other cities to Changsha, and then take bus or taxi to Xiangtan City.

By Train

Xiangtan is located in the middle part of Hunan Province, which connects northern and southern China by Jingguang Railway (Beijing to Guangzhou), and joints the eastern and western routes by Xiangqian Railway (Hunan to Guizhou). In addition, the tourist train from Guangzhou to Shaoshan takes tourists to the city. 
The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiantan Inter Rail was opened in 2016. Visitors can take the inter rail to go any city of the three Cities.

It is easily to go Shaoshan by train or by busWith the opening of Shaoshan South Railway Station, there are now hourly trains from Changsha to Shaoshan, starting at 7AM until 6PM. By Bus

The highway of Shaoshan extends to all directions. Go eastward, you will get to Xiangtan City; go northward, you will reach Changsha and Zhangjiajie Cities. There are buses to Xiangtan at an interval of 15 minutes from 5AM There are also buses to Changsha every 30 minutes from 7AM to 5:30PM In addition, you can take the buses equipped with air-conditioners to Shaoshan in Changsha Southern Station. They set out every 50 minutes from 7AM to 5PM
There are daily coaches to Changsha, Zhangjiajie, Shenzhen, Guagnzhou, Shanghai and Nanchang, etc from Xiangtan Long-distance Bus Station. There are about 25 bus routes in the city and most of which cost CNY 1 per ticket. 
In Shaoshan Road (Middle) and Shaoshan Road (West), there are many buses to Changsha and Shaoshan every 10 to 20 minutes taking about one hour. Buses to Wuhan in Hubei Province are also easy to get. It is about a four hour ride.

By Taxi

The flag-down fare is CNY 4. CNY 1.9 per kilometer for distances beyond the flag-down rate.
