The 3 World's Heritage Sites in Hunan


In Hunan Province,there are three sites which had been listed as the World's Heritage Sites. They are Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Langshan Mountain, and Laosicheng Tusi Culture Site.

No.1  Wulingyuan Scenic Area
Wulingyuan Scenic Area is made up of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianzi Mountain, Shuoxiyu, and Yangjia Scenic Spot. It was listed as one of the World's Heritage in 1992. Wulingyuan Scenic Area has a peculiar natural landscape, which features original sands tones, dense forests, and deep ravines. There are thick forests and running streams in the area, creating a picture that resembles a landscape painting.


No.2  Langshan Mountain
Langshan Mountain National Geological Park,famous for its Danxia Landform, is situated in Shaoyang City's  Xinning County,South Central China's Hunan Province.It's 498km away from Changsha City, capital of Hunan Province.Covering an area of 108 square kilometres, Langshan Mountain has rich natural scenery and  abundant tourism resources. There are more than 60 scenic spots in Langshan Mountain which was listed as the World's Heritage Site in 2012.


No.3  Laosicheng Tusi Site
Laosicheng Tusi Culture Relic Site, also known as the site of Laosicheng Tusi Domain,is one of the three sites listed as the World's Heritage Site in Hunan Province.Laosicheng Tusi Culture Relic Site is 12.4 miles (20 kilometers) east of Yongshun County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. With a total area of 62 acres (25 hectares), it is the largest, oldest, and best-preserved Tusi site in China. On July 4, 2015, the site was listed as a world cultural heritage, together with the Site of Tangya Tusi Domain and the Site of Hailongtun Tusi Fortress.
