Yingwo Village

Yingwo Village, known as Eagles Nest Village,  or 鹰窝寨(Yīng wō zhài)in Chinese, is one of the three famous attractions in Baofeng Lake Park, Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie City.  According to the local legend,  there were many eagles nesting around the village on the top of the mountain in ancient times, hence its name "Eagles Nest Village".
After entering Baofeng Lake Park, you need climb up hundreds of stone levels along the path to reach the top of the mountain. The trail is built on a steep cliff. There are two steep cliffs and stone walls squeezed together, leaving a gap in the middle. Only a line of sky can penetrate the sun. The width of the stone stairway up to more than a hundred meters can only accommodate one person to walk. This is the  attraction called "A Line of Sky".
With less than 4 meters wide on average,it is another wonderful scenic spot. Only a line of the sky can be seen from the bottom of the valley, which resembles a silk thread, seemingly long and thin. The length, narrowness, and depth here are rare in national scenic spots.
Ascend to the Eagle's Nest Village towering into the clouds,if you overlook Baofeng Lake, you fell that Baofeng Lake is like a jasper inlaid in the mountains.

Walking down-stair along the trail, you will see the Baofeng Ancient Temple built between two mountain peaks with Guanyin in it. The incense is strong here and it has been a place of pilgrimage for local people since ancient times. Baofeng Temple is discreetly hidden in among the surrounding verdure. It is an old, graceful temple, constructed for monks in search of isolation in order better to devote themselves to contemplation.

Because the mountains here are very steep, it usually takes 2 or 3 hours for people walking. So tour guides won't  ask tour groups to visit the Yingwo Village, and there are few pedestrians going there.
