Ancient Streets in Fenghuang


Phoenix Ancient Town is a wonderful example of what villages were like prior to the onset of modernization. Here dozens of alleys paved with flagstones run between the houses, each showing wear caused by the feet of generations of local people who have used them when going about their daily business. For the visitor, these alleys are the way to see the typical high gabled wooden houses built on stilts along the banks of the Tuojiang River at close quarters.

Huilongge Ancient Street
Huilongge Ancient Street is nearby Huilong Pavilion in the southeast of Fenghuang Ancient City.  It is the oldest street in the ancient city.  The stilt houses group with rich Miao architectural features stands along the shore, which is one of the most popular streets in the ancient city.With 240 meters in length, the stilt houses along the Huilong Pavilion Alley were built originally in the Qing Dynasty (1645-1911).All hanging buildings here have been opened various shops and hostels . There are many bars in the first half of the ancient street, and characteristic inns and hostels in the second half. Living in the inn along the river, you can see Wanming Pagoda, Shawan Scenic Spot, Longevity Palace, Tuojiang River Rafting.
