He Long, one of the ten China's Marshals, He Long was born in Sangzhi County in 1896. Hongjiaguan Bai Ethniic Minority Township is located in Sangzhi County, northwestern Hunan Province's Zhangjiajie City. Being the former residence of great Marshal He Long, it is one of the famous Red Tourism Site of China and has been attracted many people to visit there.

He Long's Former Residence

The Former Residence of He Long is located in a beautiful mountainous village of Hongjiaguan Township,Sangzhi County. It's about 1.5 hours driving from Zhangjiajie City.With three rooms, the house was first built as the local construction style by He Long's grandfarther in the Qing Dynasty. On March 22,1896,He Long was born in this family.In 1920s, the building  was destroyed by the goverment forces because He Long organaized the Red Army to begin his revolutionary.In 1977, the Former Residence of Marshal He Long was rebuilt by the people's government of Shangzhi County and Hunan Province.

Nearby the former residence,there is a flower bridge on the river which was also organized by He Long's grandfarher to build in the Qing Dynasty. The bridge was originally named " Yong'an Bridge",and aslo renamed "He Long Bridge" after He Long was well known widely. Nowadays, this bridge has been given a new name" The Red Army Bridge" since 2006.

He Long Memorial Hall

He Long's Memorial Hall was built by the People's Government of Sangzhi County, as well as opened to visitors on the birthdate memorial ceremoney when Marshal He Long was 110 years old.Facing the former residence, He Long's Memorial Hall stands on the mountainous with beautiful scenery. The five Chinese charactars of “贺龙纪念馆”was written by Deng Xiaoping, one of the famous leaders of China in 1990s.

Marshal He Long

He Long was born in Zhangjiajie City's Sangzhi County in 1896, and he once organized a brand of Red Army with over 200,000 people in his hometowm. Tianzi Mountain was one of the places of his fighting in 1930s. He Long led his army to leave Sangzhi County in November,1935. After one year long march,he met Mao Zedong and Zhude in north of Shaanxi Province in 1936.Being the first leader and founder of one of the three beanches of Chinese Red Army, He Long was named one the Ten Marshals after foundation of the People's Republic of China in 1949
