72 Strange Buildings Scenic Area

Nearby Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, the 72 Strange Buildings Scenic Area is located in Shadi Town of Yongding District, beside Wulingshan Avenue from downtown Zhangjiajie to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. As a new cultural landmark in Zhangjiajie, With its height 109.9 meters to be listed as the world's tallest Tujia stilted building in Guinness. Opened in August 2022, it becomes a new landmark in Zhangjiajie nowadays.

What to see?

When night falls, Tujia people dance while playing drums,some local singers climbed onto the old stage to sing the Dong ethnic songs. Under the illumination of colorful lights, this place exudes radiance and beauty.


 
 

Entering the scenic area, you feel as if history has been repeated here.  Each ancient building exudes an antique fragrance to make every tourist stop and feel the imprint left by the long historical and cultural atmosphere. It is the "Zhuangyuan Building", the oldest among the ancient architectural complexes which originated from the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) , and it  has a history of over 200 years.

There are many attractions in the area, such as the Heaven Palace Strange Building, the Old Tea House, the Old Old Official Residence, Bizka Square, Phoenix-tail  Waterfall, Bachu Snack Street, Hui People Snack Street, Republic of China Style Street, Xiangxi Old Street, Yingbin Square.
